Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple believes Vision Pro will have many enterprise uses, ranging from assisting in surgeries to managing warehouses and providing guides for complex mechanical tasks. Also, at the beginning of the month, the company announced the first beta of visionOS 1.1 for developers, allowing developers to test new features before the software sees a public launch. Recently, Apple released the second beta of the upcoming visionOS 1.1 update for developers with some new features and improvements.
One notable point of visionOS 1.1 is that it adds the option to reset Vision Pro if you forget your passcode, a feature that was released to the public just yesterday with visionOS 1.0.3. Previously, resetting a forgotten passcode required bringing the Vision Pro to Apple.
The second visionOS 1.1 update brings support for iMessage contact key verification and it adds Apple device management to Vision Pro. With these features, IT departments at companies and educational institutions can manage the Vision Pro headset the same way they manage iPhones, iPads and Macs.
According to the changelog, users can now move the volumetric view closer than before, making direct interaction with volumetric view content easier. Additionally, the company has also improved Personas in visionOS, making them look more natural and lifelike than before.
Users can download the visionOS beta by going to the Settings app on the device and toggling on Developer Beta. A pre-registered developer account is required, and the company recommends creating a backup before installing new software.
