Google last week released the first developer preview of its next version operating system – Android 15, and the text giant has now temporarily halted DP1 downloads amid the device corruption bug.
According to the information, Google has announced on the Android developer’s website that it is stopping the download of Android 15 DP1 for some time. According to the company, this is due to a known issue with sideloading OTA images. It appears that when sideloading a DP1 build, it sometimes triggers a “The device has been corrupted” message after the download is complete.
Problems with sideloading Developer Preview 1 builds can sometimes land users in trouble, so to maintain reliability, Google blocks downloads of the first Developer Preview of Android 15 until the firm can further troubleshoot the issue.
There is currently no information about how long it will take for Google to fix the problem and resume downloads. Since this is an early build of Android 15, this news mostly only affects developers.
However, this Android news may disappoint users who were all set to try out the new offerings. This will only affect average users if this issue delays the stable launch. Now, we will have to wait and see whether this issue will affect the Android 15 release timeline or not.
