OnePlus 10R now receiving February 2024 Android security update

Chinese consumer electronics maker OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 14.0.0.500 update for the flagship OnePlus 10R smartphone in India. The update will bring the February 2024 Android security patch for the OnePlus 10R along with other improvements and bug fixes.

Regarding the changelog, first of all, the February 2024 Android security update for OnePlus 10R has been integrated into the device and it will enhance the overall system security as the system stability and performance will also be improved.

This latest security patch will fix several vulnerabilities that Google and OnePlus have addressed to maintain the reliability of the device. It also delivers better defense against dangerous threats, viruses, and other security-related attacks, resulting in a saved and more secure interpretation of the system.

After updating to this update, you can now choose to show the screen recording indicator in a floating window or status bar. Also, the background stream feature in the Smart Sidebar has been removed.

However, OnePlus 10R and OnePlus 10R Endurance Edition consumers will be able to identify the February 2024 security update through OxygenOS 14 build versions CPH2423_14.0.0.500(EX01) and CPH2411_14.0.0.500(EX01), respectively.

Accordingly, the update is released via the over-the-air method in India, thus, it may take some time to cover all the eligible units. So just be patient and wait for your turn. If you don’t want to wait for the OTA, proceed with the manual installation process via the About device >> OxygenOS version section inside your phone’s Settings app.
