Samsung started rolling out the March 2024 security update for its smartphones earlier this month, and the Galaxy S24 series smartphones were the first phones to get it. Over the past few weeks, new security updates have been released for several Galaxy phones and tablets. The March 2024 security update is now available for the Galaxy S22 series.
The March 2024 software update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra is now available for locked variants on the Verizon network carrier in the US. The update comes bearing firmware version S90xUSQS4DXBG and includes the March 2024 security patch that fixes 44 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version.
This is a monthly security update, so don’t expect it to bring any new features or performance improvements like the Galaxy S24. Additionally, the company is also testing the One UI 6.1 build on the Galaxy S22 series along with several other devices. However, it is anticipated that deployment may begin as early as April.
If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and live in the US, you can now check for the new update by opening the Settings app on your phone and then going to Software Update and tapping Download and Install.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series with Android 12 in early 2022. The phones in the series received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. The Galaxy S22 series is likely to get several new features with the One UI 6.1 update in next month.
