Your Galaxy S20, Note 20 will become unsafe to use relatively soon

Samsung refreshed its software support page today, mentioning details of the April 2024 patch and a list of eligible devices. And sadly, Samsung confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series models have reached the new quarterly update schedule instead of monthly, which means not receiving monthly software updates.

As mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series will follow this new quarterly updates schedule instead of monthly. This means that flagship S and Note series devices will receive security updates every three months instead of every month.

Also, these devices will soon reach the end of software support. Your Samsung Galaxy S20, Note 20 will become unsafe to use relatively soon. The last monthly security update for Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 devices with the latest security patch was released in March 2024. The next update is expected to arrive in June 2024 and will not include the April or May 2024 security patch.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 in early 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. These flagship series phones received an Android 11 update in late 2020, an Android 12 update in late 2021, and an Android 13 update in late 2022. These devices won’t be getting the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 or One UI 6.1 update any time soon.
