Like other smartphone brands, Samsung usually releases a major Android update for its smartphones and tablets every year along with a new version of its One UI software. The major Android update first hit Samsung’s latest Galaxy S flagship smartphone series. In practice, this means that the company’s One UI 7.0 update, which is based on Android 15, was first released for the Galaxy S24 series – initially through the beta program.

Samsung introduced One UI 6.0 last year. It was based on Android 14, and Samsung has done quite an impressive job of quickly delivering the update to all eligible Galaxy devices. Plus. The company also distributed One UI 6.1 to all 2023 flagship devices late last month. Now, as we get closer to the public release of Android 15, the anticipation regarding One UI 7.0 is slowly increasing.
Google is already testing Android 15 on Pixel devices through the Android 14 developer preview and beta program. The first preview arrived in February 2023, followed by a public beta on April 12. As usual, Samsung Galaxy devices don’t get Google Preview, the company launches its own One UI beta program every year. And this year, as always, the program will likely go live in the third quarter. If this happens, the stable version of One UI 7.0 will be released in Q4 2024.
