Android 15 might let you share Google’s AI wallpapers

Google’s Pixel and Samsung’s Galaxy phones stand out from other Android flagships thanks to their many software features. The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro come with AI wallpaper generation on the devices. Also, the same AI wallpaper feature is available on the Galaxy S24 series thanks to Genini Nano. Now, according to a report Google is preparing to make AI-generated wallpapers shareable with Android 15.

The AI wallpaper generation utility is essentially a barebones text-to-image model that allows choosing an art style and visual content to create a stunning wallpaper. Currently, the feature only allows users to create stunning wallpapers and apply them to the home screen and lock screen. The shareable option is not available.

Google recently upgraded Android 15 to beta version 3 with platform stability ahead of the final stable release, which quietly included the option to share AI-generated wallpapers right from the wallpaper picker UI(Via @the_husbandalorian).

The Share button that appears with a pencil icon will allow you to refine the prompt used to create the wallpaper. All you have to do is click on the Share button to share the AI-generated wallpaper with others.

Furthermore, while the UI components are in place and the Android Share Sheet appears when tapped, the option to send or save the created wallpaper does not work. This means that the feature is still under development and needs additional work. Beta 4 may make it functional for beta users, and we anticipate that with the stable rollout, it will be publicly available.
