Meta is adding a new trick to its AI chatbot, Meta AI, which is already integrated into Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, as the competition for supremacy in AI intensifies. Users are now unable to post or upload photographs to the Meta AI chat, even though Meta AI already possesses amazing text capabilities, including the ability to hold discussions, offer captions, and respond to questions.

WeBetaInfo has discovered an intriguing new feature in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.14.20. With the help of this functionality, Meta AI will be able to respond to and even change user-shared photos. Designed to work similarly to the camera button in conventional chats, WhatsApp is testing a new camera button in the Meta AI chat, as seen in the screenshot attached.
With this update, users will be able to manually share photos with Meta AI—a feature that is not presently possible. Users will be able to ask questions about their images with this new feature, which should allow users to ask the AI to recognize things or locations or to give background information on the subject of the shot. Additionally, it appears from the screenshot that Meta AI will also have a photo editing feature, allowing users to share a prompt and edit their images right within the chat.
We wonder if this feature will be restricted to minor adjustments or if it will unleash a robust AI-powered photo editing suite. The precise extent of this image editing capability is still unknown. This feature has a lot of potential and, if it lives up to expectations, may be quite popular. The possibilities are fascinating and intriguing.

Although uploading photographs to Meta for analysis and facial recognition is part of this new image-sharing tool, the screenshot also shows that users will always be able to remove their own photos.
It looks like the function is still under development right now, so it might take some time before we see it made available to the general public. We recently revealed that WhatsApp was developing a feature called “Imagine Me,” which would let Meta AI create artificial intelligence avatars of you using a collection of your images.
