Google just began testing Android 14 beta for Pixel smartphones, and Samsung will do the same for Galaxy handsets in a few months. On top of everything else in Android 14, Samsung’s version of the operating system will also contain One UI 6.0, which introduces new capabilities.
Samsung will begin making available to the general public the stable version of Android 14 with One UI 6.0 after beta testing is complete. However, which Galaxy smartphone will receive the One UI 6.0 upgrade first?
Galaxy S23 series virtually guaranteed to get One UI 6.0 first
But, as it has done in previous years, Samsung will also extend the program to other flagships, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 that are coming out later this year and pretty much all Galaxy S, Note, and foldable flagships that are eligible for the update. Some mid-range phones could also get the One UI 6.0 beta – it’s impossible to be sure which ones, though devices like the Galaxy A53 and A54 are possible contenders.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 that will be released later this year, as well as pretty much all Galaxy S, Note, and foldable flagships that are eligible for the upgrade, will all be included in the programme, as Samsung has done in prior years. Although it’s tough to predict which mid-range phones will receive the One UI 6.0 beta, smartphones like the Galaxy A53 and A54 are likely candidates.
One UI 6.0 beta testing could start in August
The One UI 6.0 beta’s initial release is likely to occur in August given that the One UI 5.0 beta appeared in early August of last year. Within the next two months, the stable public version should begin to be released. Nothing is ever definite when it comes to release dates for significant OS upgrades, so we will have to stop from speculating here. It may even arrive sooner.
