With this release, the software is almost ready for the stable version and and then polished the details, fixed bugs, and optimized performance. The beta 3 version has a huge list of improvements that fixes the corrupted parts of your Pixel handset. Surprisingly this time, Google Pixel 8a is also in the rollout distribution list and will bring the new version.
In Android 15 Beta 3, all app-oriented behaviors and APIs are final. For developers, this means bringing apps ready for rollout. For users, not much will change after that from a functional or UI change perspective. It’s notable that Android 15 also reached this milestone a full two weeks later than Android 14.
Speaking of which, the third Android 15 beta comes with the AP31.240517.022 and weighs around 1.0GB. It further packs the June 2024 security patch and is available from Pixel 6 to Pixel 8 series, including the newest Pixel 8a.
Talking about the changes, Android 15 Beta 3 contains a new feature called Single-Step Passkey Support. This allows developers to easily incorporate biometric security (fingerprint or, on supported devices, face unlock) to sign in to their apps.
