Android 15 could add Device Diagnostics menu in Settings

Android 15 Diagnostics

Android smartphones and tablets may be packed with sensors and hardware components for various functions and uses. The number of these is huge, and it would be nearly impossible to track every component’s health status without the proper tools. In this situation, Android 15 may bring a new feature that will allow users to perform device diagnostics on their phones without the help of a repair center.

Thankfully, Pixel customers can easily test their device for faulty software and hardware through the Device Diagnostics menu in the Settings app with Android 15. “Diagnostics” comes with a built-in feature that can help you figure out if a Pixel device is healthy or not.

According to Android Authority, in collaboration with tipster Mishal Rahman, the Android Beta 3 update has revealed a new Device Diagnostics feature. According to the report, it is located between the Repair Mode option and Reset options in the device settings. The feature is said to offer two options: Component Health and Evaluation Mode.

Running diagnostics on your Android device can help you locate the source of any problems. Thankfully, Android smartphones have built-in diagnostic tools that can help you troubleshoot and diagnose problems quickly and efficiently.

Under the Component Health page, you can manually run the display test, and Touch test, and you can check the battery and storage status.

Plus, the secondary option, the Evaluation mode that’s being assessed needs to tap the Evaluated device to generate a QR code that the other device can scan. This will run a number of tests on the device being evaluated, some of which will require internet access. These tests include the same display and touch tests as before. Completion of these tests generates a report that can be evaluated to see if there are any problems with the device.
