Thanks to the first two developer previews and the first beta update in May 2024, we already have a good idea of what new features the upcoming Android 15 update could bring to devices. Now, Google is working on a new feature for Android 15 OS that will automatically turn (Auto) on when Bluetooth is turned off. new developments are being designed to ensure that Bluetooth-dependent services, such as Quick Share and Find My Device, are always available when needed. This ensures that devices remain part of the network.
The new feature was found in Android 15 code by Android Authority, which revealed an “Auto” function that turns Bluetooth back on the day after it’s turned off. This shows that Google likes to improve the user experience by stopping any interruption in Bluetooth services.
However, since the code for this feature is already part of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and the quality is not yet working in the current Android preview, it is not limited to Android 15. This means that the company could present this feature to older versions of Android.
In particular, it is important to note that not all Android devices will support this feature and the exact reasons for this are unclear. Through the Bluetooth automatic turn-on feature, the company aims to provide a more convenient and efficient experience with its devices with Android 15.
