Apple will be adding Google’s Gemini by this autumn

With the release of Apple Intelligence last month, Apple, unfortunately, was a bit late to the party, but still made a splash in the increasingly heated AI wars. There were significant guesses that Apple might include Google’s Gemini in the mix, but the company stated at the presentation that users will have the choice to select between Siri and ChatGPT for some AI questions. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg now claims that this integration might be revealed as soon as this autumn.

In his last newsletter, Gurman stated that Apple would declare its partnership with Google as early as this autumn, coinciding with the official introduction of Apple Intelligence. As a result of this partnership, Apple iPhones would probably get Google’s Gemini chatbot as an alternative to address AI queries, comparable to what Apple showed out at WWDC with ChatGPT.

According to Gurman, “I expect at least the former to be announced around the time Apple Intelligence launches this fall,” about an Apple agreement with Google or Anthropic.

This speculation stems from previous accounts of Apple’s conversations with several AI suppliers, such as Google, Meta, and Anthropic. Gurman says Apple finally chose against integrating its Llama chatbot into Meta, in spite of having brief discussions about the idea with the company.

The company stated privacy issues and preferences for observing superior artificial intelligence capabilities from the rest of the companies. The debut of Apple Intelligence and iOS 18 can be made by September with the release of the iPhone 16 series.
