ChatGPT to roll out advanced Voice Mode next month

In May, when OpenAI first introduced a live, near-real-time “advanced voice mode” for ChatGPT, the company said the feature would be available to ChatGPT users in a matter of weeks. But, now, OpenAI has confirmed that the upgraded voice mode in ChatGPT is being delayed until next month.

In a post on Twitter/X, OpenAI said it plans to launch Advanced Voice Mode in alpha to a small group of ChatGPT Plus users at the end of June, but “it needs another month to reach our level of support for the launch.”

Apart from this, the company explained the delay in the launch of ChatGPT’s advanced voice mode feature by saying that the company is improving the model’s ability to recognize and reject certain content. Along with this, the company is also working on improving the user experience and preparing its infrastructure to reach millions of people while maintaining real-time response.

As per the OpenAI deployment strategy, the company starts the alpha with a small group of users to collect feedback and expand based on what we learn.

Now, the company plans to give all Plus users access to this feature. Also, it is working on rolling out new video and screen-sharing capabilities, which we have demoed separately, and will keep you updated on that timeframe.
