First foldable iPhone may compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 8

Samsung’s first foldable smartphone was launched in 2019 and it has been making foldable phones for five years. In five years, the Korean company has made tremendous improvements in its foldable phones. Meanwhile, Apple is still in no rush to compete with Samsung, and its first foldable iPhone could rival the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

According to the information, Apple is preparing the launch its first foldable iPhone in the year 2026. the report reveals that The first foldable device will reportedly be launched in September 2026, and this is the time frame when Samsung could launch the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Additionally, the report also claims that Apple is targeting sales of around 50 million units of the foldable iPhone. According to some reports, this figure is double the entire foldable smartphone shipment estimate globally in 2023.

Apparently, the Korean tech giant is transferring some of its employees from the Vision Pro development team to the foldable iPhone development team. However, it would be best to take this report with caution, as a number of false rumors about foldable iPhones have surfaced in the past.

Some previous reports had claimed that Apple would launch a foldable iPad mini before launching the foldable iPhone to increase interest in foldable devices. Until Apple launches a foldable iPhone, Samsung needs to improve its Galaxy foldable series phones at the right level in terms of durability, feature set and longevity.
