Samsung has started rolling out the March 2024 security patch for the Galaxy A55 5G model, which is now the first Samsung phone to bring a new Android feature called “Seamless Updates”. This feature was previously only available on Google Pixel phones, ensuring that a working booting system disk remains on the drive during an over-the-air (OTA) update.

Now, the update process on Galaxy devices with the A55 5G is divided into two parts – ‘Downloading and Installing’ and ‘Verification.’ This is a change from the normal update screen seen on other Samsung Galaxy devices.
Let us tell you, that Samsung Galaxy A55 device owners are currently enjoying the features and customizations of Android 14-based One UI 6.1 software. And now the inclusion of the March 2024 patch will be like a booster, which will allow users to operate their useful gadgets more smoothly.
The security maintenance release of the March 2024 Update fixes more than 45 vulnerability exposures, including 2 critical and 35 high-level CVEs for the Android operating system. Whereas, 9 are related to Samsung One UI.
“Seamless Updates”
This feature works on an A/B mechanism, which reduces the chances of the device being idle after an update, which means fewer device replacements and device reflashes at repair and warranty centers. Additionally, this “Seamless Updates” feature allows the phone to update in the background, so users can continue using their device without any interruption. Once the update is ready, all that is required is a simple restart.
Apart from the Galaxy A55 5G, as Samsung continues to roll out the seamless update feature, it is expected that other models, especially high-end models including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy Fold, will soon benefit from the seamless update.
