The Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra are getting a new update that comes with the March 2024 security patch. This update is being released in the US. This fresh update improves system security and stability by fixing some issues. This update is already available in Europe and the company will soon expand this update to all models.
Since the Galaxy S20 series is no longer eligible for major Android or feature updates, the March 2024 patch only enhances the security of the device. Like security patches, the March patch includes fixes for vulnerabilities in both Android and One UI, with the latter getting a total of 46 fixes. Notably, this update only ensures that you are getting uninterrupted and bug-free performance on your device.
Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra users are getting the March 2024 security patch with One UI builds numbers G981USQS8HXC1, G986USQS8HXC1, and G988USQS8HXC1, respectively. Users will have to download around 500MB package to install the update.
Currently, the March 2024 update is only live for devices on US cellular networks. The Korean tech giant should soon expand it to phones from other networks. Also, the company is expected to release an update for carrier-unlocked variants of the device in the next few days.
If you are using the Galaxy S20 in the US, open your device Settings, press the Software update option, and then click on the Download and Install option. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest updates.
