Verizon has released the latest security patch to five more high-end smartphones in the Galaxy S21 family. The Galaxy S21 FE and the Galaxy S21 series have started getting the March 2024 security update in the US, specifically to the factory-locked models of the devices in the country.
The update for the factory-locked models of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S21 FE (2022) comes with firmware version G991USQSAFXBC, G996USQSAFXBC, G998USQSAFXBC, G990USQSAFXBB, and G990U2SQS8FXBB, respectively. It will soon be available across all carriers in the US.
March 2024 security update
The March 2024 security patch included in the new update fixes more than 40 vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. This is a minor firmware, meaning it does not bring any new features or performance enhancements.
These phones are likely to get more features with the release of the One UI 6.1 update in the next few months. Note, that Galaxy AI features are not found in this phone.
To download the March 2024 security update on your locked Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S21 FE, all you need to do is navigate to the device’s Settings, then a software update, and download and install. If you have received the update, install it now to get the avant-garde features.
