In 2020, Google introduced Cinematic Photos to help refresh your memories in a way that feels more vivid and realistic – so you feel like you’re back at that point. Now, the search engine is gearing up for a new feature that will automatically create a “Cinematic moment” for the Google Photos app.

As the name suggests, the Cinematic Moment feature is similar to the Cinematic Photo feature, allowing users to create 3D viewers of flat images, but will work on videos instead of still images.
According to the report, Google Photos will automatically create a cinematic moment similar to a cinematic photo by selecting a part of the video and applying a slow-motion effect to it. The process uses machine learning to estimate video depth, and users won’t be able to manually create cinematic moments the same way they can create cinematic photos.
Cinematic Moments helps refresh your videos in a way that feels more lifelike and realistic – so you feel like you’re back in that moment.

Currently in testing, the Cinematic Moment feature has been spotted by a tipster Assemble Debug (Android Authority) in the latest version 6.84.0.634885033 of the Google Photos app. However, the company has not announced when this feature will be released widely, but it is expected to be released soon.
