Google Photos is improving photo editing by making its AI-powered tools widely accessible. Starting May 15, AI-powered features like Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Magic Editor, and Portrait Light will be available to all users without any subscription.
This upcoming update expands the capabilities of Google Photos on more devices, including Pixel tablets devices, offering professional-level photo enhancements. With AI-powered editing tools, your photos can really shine. Google Photos has a number of features to help you improve your photos without pro-level editing skills, from removing background distractions to blurring blurry shots, and more.
The bundle of tools being provided for free includes Magic Eraser, and Unblur, HDR effects for photos and videos. Now, Android users can also enjoy Portrait Blur and Light to focus on subjects, Color Pop for vibrant colors, Sky Suggestions, Depth Effects, and styles in the Collage Editor for creative layouts.
Last year, Google launched Magic Editor on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Using generative AI, this editor makes intuitive, complex edits easy, like repositioning subjects or changing the color of the sky.
This update will be gradually rolled out from May 15 to all devices meeting the required specifications. With these tools, Google Photos aims to make its photo editor smarter and more practical.
Google is now expanding access to the Magic Editor to all Pixel devices. Additionally, all Google Photos users on Android and iOS will get 10 Magic Editor saves per month. If you want to limit them more, you’ll need a Pixel device or a premium Google One plan (2TB and up).
