Samsung is going to release Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones along with other flagship smartphones in late March. Meanwhile, the Korean tech giant started rolling out a March 2024 security update for Galaxy Z Fold 5 in Europe. Plus this update has already been rolled out in the US.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 users are eagerly waiting for the latest software version to be offered, but currently, Samsung has only released the new March 2024 Android security update while the wait for One UI 6.1 has extended. Additionally, the update is live in Europe and will soon expand to users in other regions.
With the Samsung One UI 6.1 update, the Galaxy Fold 5 will get Galaxy AI features including Chat Assist, Live Translate, Interpreter, Circle to Search, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Generative Edit, Instant Slo-mo, and AI Wallpaper Generator.
As per the details, the owners of carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 models will be able to determine the March 2024 security patch through the One UI build version F946BXXS1BXBM.
However, there are no new features or major changes, instead, the patch builds on the core functionality of the flagship model and resolves some common vulnerabilities and exposures, to provide users with a more protected, secure, and optimized experience.
Also, the update is rolling out slowly, so it may take some time to cover all eligible units. If you’re operating the fifth-generation foldable in Europe you can manually check for the latest update via Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
