Motorola has launched its first Ultra-branded smartphone in the Chinese market, which will be named Moto X50 Ultra. In the Weibo post, the company calls it an AI-powered smartphone and the Moto X50 Ultra is likely to have generative AI features like the Galaxy S24 series. This smartphone may be launched in April.
Moto X50 Ultra’s teaser post includes an image of a Lenovo-sponsored F1 race car, hinting at the device’s fast performance and features. The teaser was released just a day before the start of the 2024 season of the Formula 1 race in Bahrain.
The Moto X50 Ultra will launch in China first and is expected to launch in international markets under the Moto Edge moniker. The official teaser reveals the design of the AI-powered smartphone, and the device is almost confirmed to have a curved back panel with a large camera island on the top left. It also seems that the back panel of the phone is made using vegan leather, which will reduce the weight of the device, and there is a Motorola logo on the back.
Under the hood, the Moto X50 Ultra is likely to be powered by either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, two flagship processors with a dedicated AI processing unit that can natively run large language models.
Previous leaks also suggest that the smartphone may pack a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 125W fast wired charging, making it the fastest charging Moto phone on the market, and it may also support 50W wireless charging.
