One UI 6.1 brings Instagram Camera lockscreen shortcut

Samsung introduced the Galaxy S24 series earlier this year. The flagships come pre-loaded with the new One UI 6.1 iteration, which is powered by Android 14 with a host of features including Galaxy AI. Devices running One UI 6.1 now have a new option for lock screen shortcut: Instagram Camera.

How to set Instagram Camera lockscreen on One UI 6.1

In One UI 6.1 running devices, you can set the Instagram camera shortcut on your smartphone’s lock screen by simply touching and pressing the screen. Enter your lockscreen password, choose any lockscreen shortcut (left or right), and then select the Instagram Camera option from the grid.

Once enabled, Galaxy users have direct access to the Instagram camera from the lock screen. You can go straight to Instagram’s camera view, making creating stories or posting photos and videos to your social media profile easier. Notably, there are two spaces for shortcuts on the lock screen, with additional shortcut options available like Instagram in One UI 6.1.

As per the information, there is no option to set the Snapchat camera as a lockscreen shortcut. This feature may still be under development and may soon be released in the coming weeks or months. However, we can’t say for sure whether Snapchat Camera will also appear as a lockscreen shortcut on Galaxy phones running One UI 6.1.
