OnePlus 12 joins AI club, brings AI Eraser image editing feature

OnePlus on Wednesday announced “AI Eraser”, an image editing feature for its smartphones. This AI feature, inspired by Google’s Magic Eraser, is designed to improve the user’s photography experience in photo editing by allowing users to remove unwanted objects from images. Now, the AI Eraser feature is rolling out for the OnePlus 12 smartphone through the latest OxygenOS software update.

OnePlus 12 smartphone owners can use the OnePlus AI Eraser to remove objects like pedestrians, trash, or imperfections in the image. OnePlus AI Eraser is powered by artificial intelligence and a series of advanced algorithms, which allows users to edit images by selecting and removing any unwanted objects from shots in the photo gallery.

Accordingly, OnePlus 12 owners will be able to identify the latest OxygenOS update via build version CPH2573_14.0.0.608(EX01) in India and CPH2581_14.0.0.608(EX01) in the Global market. And the size of the update package – 171.68 MB.

The update is currently rolling out to OnePlus 12 smartphone users and AI Eraser will gradually be rolled out to OnePlus devices as well, including the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Open, and the OnePlus Nord CE 4.

Apart from AI Eraser, OnePlus’ AI initiatives are not limited to photo editing. The company introduced several AI-powered features for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 11 smartphones in China earlier this year, including AI Summarizer, Article Summary, and AIGC Remover.
