OnePlus has made a big disclosure about the storage of the OnePlus 12R. The 12R is already one of the best smartphones of 2024, but now it’s facing a lot of criticism because of a mistake by OnePlus. Along with the launch, the company says that the 256GB variant of the OnePlus 12R comes with UFS 4.0. Now, OnePlus has officially confirmed that the 128GB and 256GB versions of the OnePlus 12R have UFS 3.1 storage.
OnePlus CEO apologized for the mistake and the website now mentions UFS 3.1 instead of UFS 4.0.
The OnePlus 12R still has all the new Trinity Engine features we announced at launch, like launching apps faster than ever, keeping apps open for up to 72 hours, and making full use of UFS 3.1 storage. Kinder Liu, OnePlus’ president and chief operating officer, said in an official statement that the test was conducted.
OnePlus 11 and 11R use UFS 3.1 storage, but the OnePlus 12 uses UFS 4.0 which is faster. However, OnePlus says the phone will still perform well when reading from and writing to memory.
Additionally, the OnePlus 12R was fully certified by TUV SUD using UFS 3.1 storage, and as a result, it is still certified to remain fluent for up to 48 months. The company said that the OnePlus 12R will remain fast and smooth.
