OnePlus 12R Refund: OnePlus is offering refunds to these buyers

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 12R last month and said that the OnePlus 12R 256GB variant comes with UFS 4.0 storage. However, many users raised questions regarding the storage of the variant, in response to which the company admitted its mistake and confirmed that all variants of the OnePlus 12R come with UFS 3.1 storage. Due to this, the company announced further action plans, which include refunds to people who purchased the 256GB storage version.

“During the launch of the OnePlus 12R, we announced Trinity Engine, a new set of software algorithms that help keep your phone’s memory and storage running fast and smooth for years to come. Due to an error, we stated that the storage enhanced by Trinity Engine would be UFS 4.0 in some variants. I can now confirm that the storage in all variants of the OnePlus 12R is still enhanced by Trinity Engine but is actually UFS 3.1,” OnePlus said in a statement.

In short, OnePlus was advertising that the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage trim of the OnePlus 12R was packing UFS 4.0 storage, while according to OnePlus President and COO Kinder, it was actually using the slower UFS 3.1 type. Liu confirmed. The executive has now confirmed on the community forum that all buyers of the OnePlus 12R with 256GB of storage are entitled to a full refund valid till March 16.

At the time, OnePlus said that people who have purchased or pre-ordered the OnePlus 12R and want to discuss the UFS status can contact the customer service team.

Now, the Chinese tech company has confirmed that buyers of the 256GB model can get a full refund by March 16, 2024, if they are not satisfied with the device by contacting the customer service team.
