Smartphone charging technology is getting ridiculous. Last year, Xiaomi’s Redmi showed off a 300W charging speed that fully charges a 4,100mAh battery in 5 minutes on the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition. Xiaomi’s rival Realme has also announced that it is working on similar technology. However, to step up the charging speed game, Realme is taking the charging speed to 300W fast-charging, allowing a 4,600mAh battery to be fully charged in less than 9 minutes, while the 240W charging speed fully charges a 4,600mAh battery in nine and a half minutes.

In an interview with the YouTube channel The Tech Chap, Francis Wong, CEO of Realme Europe and Global Marketing Director confirmed that Realme working on 300W fast-charging tech similar to Xiaomi’s Redmi.
As mentioned above, Realme already offers 240W charging in the Realme GT Neo 5, which claims to charge the 4,600mAh battery from zero to 20 percent in 80 seconds, zero to 50 percent in four minutes, and zero to 100 percent in less than 10 minutes.
This important technology can be seen in several other devices such as the Realme GT Neo 3 with 150W, iQOO 11s with 200W, Infinix Zero Ultra 5G with 180W, and OnePlus 10T with 150W. Now, Realme 300W fast charging technology offers next-level charging speed to charge upcoming Realme devices.

Fast charging is now evolving mainstream, at least among Chinese smartphone makers. While Apple and Samsung smartphones are yet to see 65W charging, brands such as OnePlus, iQOO, Xiaomi, and Realme are adding at least 100W charging to their flagship offerings. In mid-range phones priced below Rs 40,000, most phones are equipped with at least up to 80W charging, which can fully charge a phone (with a 4,500mAh battery) in 40 minutes.
