Samsung devices may get file integrity and partial screen sharing with Android 15 (One UI 7)

Android 15 One UI 7

On February 16, 2024, Google released its first developer preview of Android 15, which doesn’t bring too many surprises but it’s definitely a good start. Some of the most notable features of Android 15 DP1 are File Integrity Manager and Partial Screen Sharing and it is also expected to come with the next version of Samsung custom skin, One UI 7.0.

According to information from Tarun Vats, Android 15 Developer Preview 1 has introduced File Integrity Manager and Partial Screen Sharing, we can also expect Samsung to bring this useful feature with One UI 7 for Galaxy devices.

Android 15 File Integrity:

Android 15 brings a new FileIntegrityManager API that uses a feature called “fs-verity” in the Linux kernel. With FS-Verity, files can be protected by custom cryptographic signatures, ensuring that they have not been tampered with or corrupted. So app developers can rest easy knowing that their app functionality and data have not been compromised in any way.

If Samsung includes this File Integrity feature in One UI 7.0, your precious data will be safer than ever. Galaxy users will also be able to use their applications without fear of data loss or security attacks.

Android 15 Partial Screen Sharing:

Android 15 is introducing partial screen sharing so users can share or record just an app window instead of the entire device screen. Notably, this feature, first enabled in Android 14 QPR2, includes MediaProjection callbacks that allow your app to customize the partial screen sharing experience.

With the new partial screen sharing, the status bar, navigation bar, notifications and other system UI elements are also excluded from the shared display, to enhance user privacy and provide an adequate experience.
