Samsung ends software update support for Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy S10 Lite are the two oldest flagships introduced by the Korean tech giant. While the devices are still shining in many hands four years on, the company has stopped software update support for them.

On the other hand, according to Samsung’s previous software update policy, its flagship devices get four years of software updates, which has been done for the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy S10 Lite.

Further, the last major update that the phone grabbed was the Android 14 OS update. Meanwhile, its last security patch was the February 2024 patch. Accordingly, critical security updates may be released for these devices if a serious security flaw is found.

Samsung is currently offering seven years of software updates to its flagship Galaxy phones, which are currently available for the Galaxy S24 series.

With the discontinuation of updates for the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Samsung has now ended support for all Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series. Moreover, the Galaxy A71 or Galaxy A02 variants have not received any major updates: Samsung will continue to release security updates for the Galaxy A71 5G and Galaxy A02s for the next year.

In case you are still rocking with the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy S10 Lite smartphone, it’s a great time to upgrade to the newest S series phone – Galaxy S24 series, which will give you an enhanced Note feel.
