Samsung Galaxy Z Flip software update support has ended

Samsung refreshed its software support page today, mentioning details of the April 2024 patch and a list of eligible devices. And sadly, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip models have reached the end of the support period, which means there won’t be any more software updates.

The Original Galaxy foldable was announced back in the first quarter of 2020. As the Galaxy Z Flip smartphone lineup just celebrated its fourth birthday, Samsung ended its support for official software updates. Users of the Z Flip phones are still rocking, thanks to pro-grade hardware and continuous software support.

In its four-year-long tenure, the Galaxy Z Flip was upgraded to a new operating system three times, up to Android 13. With each new One UI and OS version, Samsung brings new useful features and optimizations so that users can get the most out of their gadgets.

Rather than the conventional Samsung Experience UI, the Galaxy Z Flip phones came pre-installed with Android 10 and Samsung’s One UI 2 skin. Later, the company delivered Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13 (One UI 5/5.1/5.1.1).

It is noteworthy that Samsung is ending support only for the LTE version of the Galaxy Z Flip. The 5G variant of the Galaxy Z Flip, which launched six months after the LTE model, is still eligible for quarterly security updates, similar to the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series.
