An earlier leak indicated that the Adreno 830 GPU, clocked at 935 MHz, will be included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 launch series. Digital Chat Station, a Weibo leaker, has now pointed at an intriguing new feature that might change the mobile gaming scene with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. It looks like the Adreno 830 will be able to run Genshin Impact at 120 frames per second in 1080p thanks to frame interpolation capabilities.
A relatively recent function that is exclusive to current-generation Nvidia and AMD GPUs is frame interpolation, also referred to as DLSS/FSR Frame Generation. It basically raised the frame rate of a game by using fake frames. Although this appears to provide better performance, it comes with additional input lag and visual distortions such as blurring of the images.

According to the DCS, The capability won’t be restricted to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. It might make its way to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with a firmware upgrade. Obviously, not all games will support it, and developers will need to incorporate the feature into their games. If done correctly, this might enable the Snapdragon X Elite to run games more smoothly and open the door for AAA PC/console titles like Assassin’s Creed, Mirage, and Resident Evil Village to come to Android.
