Spotify extension coming to Google Gemini

According to a new report from Android Authority, version v15.22.29.29 of the Google app for Android (the app that offers Gemini on Android devices) includes a Spotify extension for Gemini. Similar to the YouTube Music extension, People at the publication were able to manually activate the new extension and use it.

As you might have guessed, this extension allows Gemini to access Spotify and provide you with better results for music-related queries. As you know, the YouTube Music extension in Gemini allows users to discover music, start radio, and more through an AI chatbot experience. Also, presumably, the new Spotify integration will work similarly.

At the moment, Google only offers extensions for first-party apps and services for the chatbot, including Google Flights, Google Hotels, Google Maps, Google Workspace, and YouTube. Users can enable these extensions so the chatbot can access those apps and services and better answer questions.
