YouTube rolling out stable volume to Android and Google TV

YouTube is a platform where you can watch videos. Sometimes, the volume of the videos varies, some are louder and some are quieter. This can be annoying when you watch a video. YouTube’s answer to solve this problem is Stable Volume, a feature first introduced in the mobile app in 2023. Now, YouTube’s Stable Volume feature is rolling out to many Android TV and Google TV devices on the latest version of the YouTube app.

As spotted by 9to5Google, a new Stable volume toggle has been added below the gear icon on various Android TV and Google TV devices running YouTube v4.40.303.

Tapping on the gear icon while a video is playing will show users the Constant Volume option, here you can toggle it on/off. Constant Volume is a feature designed to improve your listening experience with a wide range of YouTube content.

Plus, it performs by automatically adjusting the volume of the videos you watch. It means you don’t have to reach for your remote to turn down the volume for loud videos or turn up the volume if someone in the video is speaking too softly.

Currently, the YouTube app’s stable volume feature is not available on all Android TVs and Google TVs. Some people spotted it and shared it online. Also, we don’t have “stable volume” on our Android TVs either. Google is testing the feature and will soon roll it out to all TVs. Until then, we have to wait for its wider rollout or official information.
